Coronation Street spoilers have revealed a shock hospital dash – as an icon’s death is ‘sealed’.

There will be big scenes on Coronation Street next week centring around the beloved Roy Cropper. Roy – played by David Neilson – has had a rough few months, after he was falsely accused of the disappearance and murder of Lauren Bolton. Lauren has been missing for several weeks now, and whilst viewers know Joel Deering is responsible, Weatherfield are yet to learn what he has done.

Things get worse for Roy next week when he collapses and is rushed to hospital. Will Roy be ok? Nina and Shona rush into the café to find Roy undergoing CPR from the paramedics and it’s clear he is in a bad way.

When Roy heads to hospital, he receives a visitor who diligently stays with him for a while. As he drifts in and out of consciousness, is this it for Roy – and has all the stress of the last few months taken its toll? He later tells Nina about his visitor, but she isn’t sure if he’s just hallucinating. Who does he think he has seen?

Elsewhere, a villain returns leaving Gary conflicted and causing tension between him and Maria. The pair have had some marriage troubles – but it looks like they could be set to split again as someone causes a chasm between them? Can they survive this?

Leanne is left distracted by Rowan’s proposal about the Institute taster session as they try and recruit new members. Toyah agrees to go with Leanne, and when they arrive at the hotel, Leanne is thrilled to see one of the Weatherfield residents there.

Craig, meanwhile, is convinced he’s got a new enemy in fellow police officer Kit whilst Betsy makes her mark and asks Carla to employ her full time – but with Carla keeping her cards close to her chest, how will Betsy take it?
