Emmerdale has revealed new drama ahead for departing character Nate Robinson on the ITV soap.

Nate, played by actor Jurell Carter, is reportedly leaving the village in “dramatic” scenes this year after five years on the show. While the actor and the soap have yet to confirm the news, it’s said the “explosive” storyline will “go down in history”.

Now, after being offscreen recently, Nate is back on the show next week. He finds himself causing trouble for pal Billy Fletcher amid a sad storyline for the character. Spoilers reveal Nate encourages Billy to enjoy himself and go for some drinks, after a stressful time with his family.

His baby son Evan was recently diagnosed with leukaemia, and he’s been in hospital for weeks receiving treatment. With Evan allowed to return home, his mum Dawn Fletcher is cautious about keeping the household in a bubble to prevent any germs or illnesses being spread around.

But with Dawn and Billy constantly clashing amid their shared fears for Evan, a moment next week leaves him down. Evan spits up his medication under Billy’s care resulting in Dawn losing trust in him.

Wanting to take some chill time, Billy takes Nate up on his offer of going for some beers. But Billy has one to many and ends up getting drunk, and he has to be carried home by Nate.

Of course this means Billy has broken their bubble for Evan, with Kim Tate seemingly working it all out. As Dawn frets about Billy’s absence, Kim covers for him but there’s panic ahead when Evan seems unwell.

Evan has developed a cough and he is soon rushed to hospital, leaving Dawn beside herself. Billy feels guilty about his lack of social distancing with Nate, blaming himself for Evan having the cough.
